Vitalik Buterin, the co-creator of Ethereum, has announced a contribution of $10 million worth of Shiba Inu to the India-focused coronavirus prevention initiative, CryptoRelief. This donation is part of a larger tranche of donations totaling $100 million.
In a tweet on Thursday, Buterin shared this news. Additionally, CryptoRelief, which is led by Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal, plans to contribute $90 million in USDC (US Dollar Coin) to the initiative. It is worth noting that these funds were generated from the sale of Shiba Inu (SHIB) tokens that were sent to CryptoRelief by Buterin in early 2021.

Vitalik Buterin to donate additional Shiba Inu for India
Ethereum co-creator, Vitalik Buterin, also emphasized the importance of addressing indoor air quality as part of a comprehensive approach to combating the COVID-19 pandemic and future pandemics. In a tweet from his official account, Buterin stated that focusing on airborne transmission is essential for long-term solutions. The tweet mentioned specific measures such as improving ventilation, HEPA filtering, and utilizing experimental technologies like UVC irradiation.
Recognizing the significance of Long Covid, Buterin underscored the need for continued research in this area. According to him, one of the most pressing risks posed by COVID today is the substantial number of individuals experiencing persistent symptoms over an extended period, commonly referred to as “long Covid.
