Following the recent indictment of former U.S. President Donald Trump on federal charges, his NFT project, known as Trump Digital Collectible Cards, has announced its intention to proceed with awarding prizes despite the arrest.

Collect Trump Cards recently sent an email to prize winners of the Trump Digital Trading Cards Sweepstakes, urging them to claim their rewards promptly. The email, titled “Claim Your Prize from the Trump Digital Trading Cards Sweepstakes NOW!”, highlighted various prizes available, such as a chance to meet the former President, attend a gala dinner at Mar-A-Lago, or participate in group Zoom calls. Winners were informed that they could now redeem their prizes by burning their corresponding NFTs.

Donald Trump NFT buyers were mostly newbies

Previous reports have indicated that a majority of buyers of Trump’s initial digital collection were newcomers to the world of NFTs. The email explicitly explained the process of burning an NFT for those who may be unfamiliar with it.

Those who obtained a prize by purchasing a Trump Digital Collectible Card NFT were additionally given a separate “Win Trump Prizes” NFT, which specifies the particular prize won. Holders of this second NFT are required to burn it in order to claim their prizes, rather than the original trading card NFT.

The website does not provide a specific timeline for the awarding of prizes related to the former president. However, it does state that physical prizes, such as books or personally signed memorabilia, can be expected to be received within 4-6 weeks.
