Whereabouts of Do Kwon no longer a mystery
Do Kwon was apprehended after nearly a month of intense searching by multiple agencies. He was traveling to Dubai with a forged Costa Rican passport, according to the officials. Following the news of his capture, fraud charges were imposed by South Korean authorities. It was also followed by Singapore launching an investigation into his actions and a New York federal grand jury charging Kwon with eight counts of securities fraud and other charges.
The founder of Terra had to wait for almost an hour as the police in Montenegro looked through his bags. They arrested him and his associate, Han Chang-Joon, after discovering forged papers claiming he was from Belgium. The intensity of the charges that will be faced by Kwon reveals that he won’t be released any time soon.
According to the Interior Ministry of Montenegro, “The pair were escorted to the public prosecution department in the small Balkan nation’s capital on Thursday night, where they were charged with forgery and traveling on false passports.”
