Three Ripple Executives Now Crypto Billionaires

Bitcoin is not the only cryptocurrency churning out a number of millionaires and billionaires. Ripple’s XRP is also minting billionaires.

With the value of these digital currencies skyrocketing to more than 600 billion dollars in one year alone, it is no longer surprising to see the billionaires club grow at a rapid rate.

It can be recalled that XRP skyrocketed from a mere $0.006 at the beginning of 2017 and closes at $2.84 as of right now January 3, 2018.

The return of 38,000% has inevitably created wealth for many of its holders.

The former CEO of Ripple himself, Chris Larsen.

This Ripple executive owns roughly 5.19 billion XRP in his own holdings. In addition, he also owns 17% stake in the company making him one of the wealthiest Americans today.

  • Larsen has a net worth of more than 37 million dollars.

Larsen stepped down from his CEO post and now is serving as the company’s executive chairman.

The current CEO Brad Garlinghouse also landed himself a spot on the billionaires’ club. With a total stake of 6.3%, he also owns personal XRP tokens.

Joining Larsen and Garlinghouse is co-founder Jed McCaleb. Although he had left the company in 2013, he managed to enter into an agreement with the company over the XRP tokens he owns. According to McCaleb, he had donated two billion XRP while his remaining 5.3 billion XRP are meted out every month.

With the impressive performance and the surge in the price of XRP tokens, it is expected that more XRP executives will soon join the ranks of the world’s richest individuals.
